Places — Bürgenstock – The Legendary Resort of Switzerland Reinvents Itself
Bürgenstock, on a promontory overlooking Switzerland’s Lake Lucerne, has a renowned hospitality history. The first hotel opened here in 1873, and in the 1950s, Audrey Hepburn married Mel Ferrer in the Bürgenstock Chapel. The resort closed for several years, but has recently reopened as the Burgenstock Hotels and Resort, Lake Lucerne.
The resort’s general manager, Robert Herr joins Paul and Elizabeth to share news about what the resort is like today: with three hotels, three swimming pools, and restaurants serving everything from rosti potatoes and raclette to haute cuisine. And on nearby hikes, you just might encounter cows with bells.
Learn about Bürgenstock, old and new in this delightful podcast.
